How I can support you and your child
Every family's journey looks different.
Here's what working with Goldfinch looks like.
-
Have questions about your child's communication skills? Not sure if speech therapy is right for your child? You don't need to have it all figured out. In this free 15-minute phone call, I'll listen to your concerns, share what I can about how I work, and help you decide whether Goldfinch feels like a good fit for your family.
-
During this 60-90 minute evaluation, I'll get to know your child: how they understand language, express themselves, and connect with the people they love. We follow your child's lead, with plenty of room for comfort and regulation along the way. You'll receive a written report and a feedback session to walk through findings and next steps together.
-
Speech therapy that meets your family where you are. Telehealth is a great fit for families across Washington who want flexible scheduling, kids who do better in their own environment, and parents who want to be closely involved in every session. Sessions are 45-60 minutes over a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform.
-
Some kids do their best work at home. I come to you. Sessions take place in your home where your child is relaxed, regulated, and ready to engage. I get to see how they communicate in their real environment, which makes my observations richer and my recommendations more practical. Available throughout Pierce County and surrounding areas.
Areas I Support
Every child communicates differently.
Here’s where I focus my work.
-
Your toddler isn't saying much yet. I help families understand what's typical, what's worth watching, and when early support makes a real difference.
-
I believe every communication style has value. My work is strengths-based, child-led, and built around who your child actually is — not who the checklist says they should be.
-
Some kids learn language in chunks and scripts rather than single words. I'm trained to recognize and support gestalt language processors and help families understand this beautiful path to communication.
-
Communication is communication — whether it's speech, a device, signs, or pictures. I support kids who use or may benefit from AAC, and help families feel confident using it at home too.
-
I work with school-age kids and teens struggling with reading, writing, following directions, or expressing ideas. I have a particular interest in literacy-based intervention for kids whose language challenges show up in the classroom.
-
From early sound errors to more complex articulation patterns, I love this work — especially with older kids who are ready to tackle it head-on.
-
Mealtime stress is real. I support kids with selective eating, texture sensitivities, and feeding challenges in a low-pressure, child-led way.
-
You are your child's most important communication partner. I offer coaching so you feel equipped and confident — not just informed.
